Believing in God

This repost is intended to explain, on the simplest level, how we decide whether or not we believe in God.
For some, believing in God is nothing more than an acknowledgement; believe and live on. This can be called Religion 1 because it is a belief in a divine power. For others believing in God is an expression of belief in conduct and ritual. In this case one seeks information about God and how to profess the belief in God. This is practicing Religion.
Believing in God is a choice, so also is choosing how to believe in God. It is a matter of Faith. No man has seen God 2 At least there is no man who can prove that he has seen God. With Faith, we make a choice to believe in God so we may achieve the ultimate goal of self-love; eternal life. We choose to love God.
What is the best way to love God?
We can make up our own way to love God. But the chance that we follow the right path is less likely than winning the lottery. We can look for help from a known source. Mostly, the faith we choose is from information from someone we trust. It may be our parents. It could be someone else. Ultimately it comes from a known Prophet 3  God speaks to us through the Prophets. There have been many Prophets and they have many different views about God. Which Prophet to believe is the question. Think about the religion you believe in. Who is the profit of your belief?

1.Webster: a belief in a divine or superhuman power or powers to be obeyed and worshiped as the creator and ruler of the universe.
2. Exodus 33:20 But He said, to Moses, “You cannot see My face, for no man can see Me and live!”
3. Webster: A prophet is someone who teaches or spreads the word of God.
